AI4RA Tip of the Week #1

What is Vandalizer, how do I get access, and how do I get support?

Vandalizer is an AI powered document processing and knowledge extraction platform built specifically for research administrators. It automates repetitive, time-consuming tasks that use research documents, such as proposals and budgets, using flexible and reusable workflows to get accurate and reproducible results. Users upload documents, create and run step-by-step workflows which extract, analyze, and format data to their specification, then Vandalizer provides them structured outputs that are easy to utilize in their everyday work. Users can choose to use pre-made vetted workflows or create their own.

Some example tasks that can be automated with Vandalizer:

  • Create a budget justification from a budget.
  • Check a proposal against sponsor solicitation requirements
  • Scan a proposal and create a readiness checklist
  • Checks for errors and unallowed costs in a budget
  • Extract key information from a grant proposal
